The Peripheral by William Gibson

4 out of 5 stars Goodreads Win

Is it a game or is it a murder as we see different point of views in this story.

We have Flynne and her brother Burton who is living among the outside world of drugs. Burton is living off his veteran’s benefit.  He has implants due to neurology damage during his time in the USMC’s elite Haptic Recon force.

One night he has to go out and tells his sister that he is beta testing a new game.  What appears to be a simple job of working a perimeter around a tower building is not as simple as it seems when little things go wrong.

When he asks Flynne to take over the job things he tell her are not what she experiences.  As she further investigates the situation, she finds herself in a world she never expected.

Can she do her job or will it end badly?  All is not what it seems as you never know who to trust in is riveting game.
