Pieces of Autumn by Mara Black Review

4 out of 5 stars Kindle Copy for Review

This is a story of two imperfect people who find love among the darkness in their souls.  Perhaps they should have never meet in this manner but in the end they found salvation with each other.

Autumn is a teenager living on the streets scrounging to survive day by day.  She decides to basically sell herself to an organization so she will not starve. It is an organization that basically sells young girls for sexual pleasure for the highest bidder. Desperation makes you do unspeakable things especially when you are running away from someone who wants you dead.

Tate is a former member who has many demons of his own.  He was a trainer of the girls as he would  torture them so they would be submissive to whoever that would buy them.  But one day he has a meltdown as his alter ego killed a high ranking member after his many beatings throughout his stay.

After barely one day at her new place she is gifted to Tate. Being full of spirit and stubborn she does not back down from Tate who treats her harshly.  Tate tries to scare her away from him but it only further draws her to him.  They know they should not be attracted to each other but they cannot help themselves.

Can these two accept each other despite their past?  Who will master who in the end and doing so heal each other.  A dark tale of falling in love with your kidnapper but in the end who is really kidnapped.
