Synopsis
The small isle of Islandmore was once an avenue for smugglers and a burial place for unbaptized babies.
When a cold case leads Inspector Devlin to the desolate island in an attempt to locate the bodies of a group of people who have been presumed dead for over thirty years, he uncovers a horrifying secret: the body of a baby who appears to have been murdered. Every fiber of the inspector's being tells him he should find justice for this child, but he is prohibited from investigating further.
Devlin is torn. He has no desire to dredge up painful events of the past, but neither can he let a murderer go unpunished. Devlin must follow his conscience—even when it puts those closest to him at risk.

Review:

4 out of 5 stars Kindle Copy for Review

In book five in the series, we find Inspector Devlin spending more time with his family as Penny recovers from her accident.  Realizing the importance of family after almost losing his daughter, he tries to be there for family dinners.

When a tip about a missing person thirty years ago, uncovers the body and that of a baby girl that suffered from being hit in the head are also found.  Things are not as simple as to its connection.  A baby girl with no name forces him and his wife to relive his wife miscarriage at five months and the great chance that the child would have been deformed years before their daughter was born.

Being told to ignore the dead baby girl and concentrate on the thirty year old body, he struggles with his conscience needing to find who the missing girl and who murdered her.  As the secret lurks out, more dead bodies are found to hide the crimes.

Using his instincts despite that he is putting himself and others as risk as people try to hide their crimes.  Another winner by the author that flows for the reader.
