Lady Elizabeth Upton was not looking to get married after she was rejected by a soldier several years ago who went off to war without asking for her hand. She is happy to be a spinster and do charitable works helping soldiers ‘widows and their families who need aid.

The Duke offers marriage when a mix up occurs as she is sent to his bed chamber and she is met by him naked. She runs out the room and runs into her brother.
