It’s five years later as Avery graduates from UCLA without
Hayden and survived their baby’s death as well.
She’s on a downhill spiral seeking alcohol as away to hide her sadness
and one night stands. One drunken night
at a bar in Los Angeles she runs into Bryce who ends up taking her back to his
place so she can sleep it off.
Bryce did his time in jail for the death of Hayden and now
owns a tattoo a parlor and does tattoos.
He still is carrying guilt of his best friend death and realizes that
alcohol does not solve anything. After
their initial meeting, weeks go by before they run into each other at his
business. She is drunk with a guy who
both decides they want tattoos since neither has any ink but he refuses since
he was closing up at their arrival. The
drunk guy takes offense and starts saying some unflattering things about Avery
that Bryce does not like and in the process he dislocates one of the guy’s
finger.
Avery ends up back at Bryce’s place where their act out on
their mutual feelings as she reveals what happened after Hayden’s death. They grow closer as they spent more time with
each other and realizing that they need each other and that their love for
Hayden is not tainted with what they have.
Going back home one weekend as they make peace with their
memories. Visiting Hayden’s home and
talking to his parents and eventually his grave, they finally are able to say
goodbye.
Learning to be happy when all seem lost and finding your
soul mate is right there besides you. Sometimes
life throws you sorrow so you can truly appreciate happiness.
