What is a lady supposed to do when she learns the man she marries is not whom he she was told but she saw his final death when he jumped to his demise.

She finds herself in London with her younger unmarried sister penniless.  She thought she married an Earl but it was a case of stolen identity.  A traitor to England with a title that belong to someone else, she is thought to be a spy.

Maggie finds herself at the home of the new Earl’s home who she does not of his existence.  Figure she could pass off at being the current Countess since his death is not known.  She is surprise to find the earl is in residence and screams when she finds him in bed.

The real Lord of Warwick is surprised by the ladies presence and is not quite sure what to do.  He is told to protect her as she might know secrets of her husband.  The following day burglars stole only her husband few belongings and ransacking her and sister belongings.  He realizes she is in danger and an acquaintance of her husband is found the next day.


Along the way despite mistrust, the two of them become close.  Despite him having a young lady that he has given his intentions.   A moment of giving into their attraction leads them to fall further in love but they will deny their feelings for others.  Will they admit their feelings before their lives are in peril or will they have to face losing each other before they admit their feelings?   This is another winner by Cheryl Bolen.
